As a mom with many hats, I am constantly pushed to pause and reflect more often than not. Sometimes it’s to laugh, sometimes it’s to learn, and sometimes it’s just to sit with the reality that parenting is an ever-evolving journey. Talking with my mom yesterday brought a full-circle moment. We laughed about things that once felt serious, and I found myself sorting through what I appreciated, what I questioned, and what I want to carry forward. Both truths exist: some of us were raised with intention, while some unfortunately experienced things that should never be normalized.

One thing that continues to stand out is respect  not just how it’s taught, but how it’s experienced. As millennials raising children in a completely different world, we have to “Stand On Business”, as the kids say.  Meaning leading with clarity, holding our standards without shame, and trusting our instincts over outside noise. It’s the long game. The kind those 90s sitcoms always reminded us of  where the lesson comes full circle and you then realize everything had a purpose, even when it didn’t feel like it at the time.

The strength to do this was never something we had to find from the outside. It was passed down, shaped by experience, and refined by love. Our instincts, our values, our why. That’s where our power lives, and that’s what our children are watching. So if you’ve read this far, you’ve already joined the mission without even knowing it.
